Position Purpose

The Maintenance Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Plant Operations and is responsible for coordinating and supervising activities related to the efficient maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment at all VGCC campuses. In addition to supervising the Maintenance Technicians, this position requires performing physical work associated with facility maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Limited electrical license or higher. Excellent organizational, managerial, and supervisory skills. Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Certificate or diploma in a maintenance related trade. Credentials must be from a regionally accredited college or university. Proficient in operating a Building Automation System.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work from ladders or mechanical lifts, and work in extreme weather conditions. Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive movements.

Essential Duties

Monitor and make adjustments to HVAC controls to ensure efficient operation of mechanical systems using building automation systems.
Schedule HVAC and lighting requests for events.
Receive, prioritize, and assign work requests using maintenance management software.
Schedule and monitor work assignments for Maintenance Technicians.
Provide supervisory support for Maintenance Technicians.
Conduct performance evaluations of Maintenance Technicians.
Perform routine inspections of buildings and equipment to identify any needed repairs.
Schedule the service and repair of Plant Operations motor vehicles and maintain records for each.
Procure and maintain an inventory of parts and supplies for the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.
Make necessary repairs to buildings and equipment.
Prepare specifications and solicit proposals for contracted work.
Schedule, coordinate, and supervise contracted work.
Maintain records for maintenance and repair activities related to buildings and equipment.
Remove snow from sidewalks, bridges, steps, and walkways.
Remove litter from buildings and grounds as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Plant Operations.

Salary Range $3750-$4300 monthly, may be eligible for a one-time recruitment bonus.
