Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the appropriate Program Head/Department Chair/Director or Dean, the part-time instructor is responsible for teaching course content, preparing, and keeping appropriate records and syllabi for all assigned courses. Each part-time instructor will provide effective instruction in all classes by implementing active learning strategies and focusing on student learning outcomes. Vance-Granville supports a four county area including Vance, Granville, Warren and Franklin. This position may be requested to teach courses in the Electronics Engineering Technology (EET)program at anyone one of the four locations where EET courses will be taught.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have an Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field, at least 2 years of related work experience in the electronics field, and experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators and logic probes.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or related field. Teaching experience at the secondary and post-secondary level, experience working with schematic capture and simulation software such as NI Multisim, and experience using and developing content for the Moodle learning management system.

Physical Demands

Lifting objects and materials that may weigh up to 50 lbs.

Essential Duties

A part-time instructor is responsible for developing, maintaining, and evaluating educational materials, assessing student learning outcomes, recommending improvements to course/program, maintaining suitable class records, recommending textbooks and instructional supplies, maintaining appropriate course documents such as syllabi, objectives, tests, and lesson plans etc.

Electronics Engineering Technology courses are taught at South Campus in Butner and Bunn High School in Bunn, NC. Additionally, courses are being scheduled for Northern Vance High School in Henderson, NC and Granville Central High School in Stem, NC.
